8月23日に31歳を迎えるAKIRAをみんなでお祝いしようと、2年4組の生徒＆スタッフ総勢100名でこっそりバースデーイベントを企画。生徒たちが いつも通りの雰囲気で待つスタジオの教室に、何も知らされていないAKIRAが入ってくると、藤吉役の山田裕貴が突然、「鬼塚っ！いや、AKIRAさ ん！」と大声を上げ、全員で「お誕生日おめでとうございまーす！」と祝福の言葉を贈った。

AKIRAは、その大声に一瞬驚いた表情を見せたが、すぐに満面の笑みに。そして、菊地役の高田翔＆村井役の森本慎太郎がバースデーケーキを運び入れ、冬 月先生役の瀧本美織の掛け声を合図にバースデーソングをプレゼント。

サプライズで誕生日をお祝いされたAKIRAは、「びっくりした～」と照れながらも目頭を押さえ、感動のあまり男泣き。それを見た生徒たちも思わずもらい 泣きするほど、現場は温かい雰囲気に包まれた。

その後、番組を代表して吉川役の中川大志が名前入りディレクターズチェアと特製台本カバーを、雅役の川口春奈＆美姫役の西内まりやが寄せ書きの色紙をプレ ゼント。さらに生徒一人一人からAKIRAへのメッセージカードが贈られた。

最後には、生徒全員と「イエ～イ！」と拳を突き出したポーズで記念撮影。撮影後、AKIRAは一人一人に「ありがとうございます」とお礼を言いながら生徒 全員と握手を交わし、ドラマさながら、AKIRAと生徒たちの熱い団結力が垣間見えた。

「GTO」は、元伝説の暴走族ヘッドで教師・鬼塚英吉の活躍を描いた藤沢とおる氏のマンガが原作。98年には俳優の反町隆史主演、女優の松嶋菜々子ヒロイ ンでドラマ化され、人気を呼んだ。
