Hollywood director and producer Anthony Scott, best known for his films "Top Gun" (Top Gun), "Spy Game" (Spy Game) and "Crimson Tide" (Crimson Tide), committed suicide by jumping from a bridge near Los Angeles said on Monday, Reuters.

According to the Associated Press, in the car 68-year-old Scott was found a suicide note, the contents of which are not reported.

Scott was born in a small town in north-east England. His film debut was in 16 years, when his older brother Ridley Scott invited him to star in his short film.
